Securing the global energy supply from renewable sources is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Research into energy-related materials and processes is therefore a priority for science. The summer school “Functional Materials and Processes for Energy and Sustainable Development” offers an overview of the most important areas of energy production and storage, with a focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable processes.

It takes place annually at the University of Strasbourg and brings together young scientists and experienced experts from all over Europe. The aim is to promote interdisciplinary exchange and discuss current research topics together. Prof. Christina Roth's contribution was part of the thematic focus “Electrocatalysis for the energy transition”, in which she presented the latest findings from her research and put them up for discussion. “The summer school was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from France and Switzerland and to gain new impetus for current teaching,” said Christina Roth
