LSWV team members showcase outstanding contributions at Electrochemistry 2024 in Braunschweig

From September 16th to 19th, the Electrochemistry 2024 conference organized by the Electrochemistry Division of GCDCh and partners such as DECHEMA took place in Braunschweig, Germany. The conference served to highlight results and current trends from nearly all topics of electrochemistry from fundamental science to technical applications, which of course included CO2 capture and utilization and batteries, two topics where our chair is highly active on.

The chair of electrochemical process engineering was represented by Prof. Christina Roth, Mr. Mina Attia, and Ms. Jingyu Xie, as well as Mr. Zhenye Zhu, a DFG project partner based at the Freie Universität Berlin. Mr. Attia, Mr. Zhu and Ms. Xie all presented posters dealing with the use of Cu of the CO2 reduction reaction (Mr. Attia and Mr. Zhu) and research in the field of Si@C anodes for batteries (Ms. Xie).

All of the presented work was well received by the enthusiastic audience and we, from the chair of electrochemical process engineering, would like to extend a very heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Zhu who went on to be awarded with a poster prize for his excellent work!  All in all, the participation at this event can be considered a success, with how much information exchange occurred at the meeting, be it thanks to the great talks given by the speakers or due to the spirited conversations that took place on during the event.

Lastly, now is the time to announce that the next Electrochemistry meeting will be held at our very own University of Bayreuth in 2026, where Prof. Christina Roth and Prof. Roland Marschall will participate as chairs of the event.
