Once again, material science and engineering students participate the LSWV chemical practical course
In July, the LSWV once again hosted a chemistry practical course for the Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering. The students carried out practical laboratory work in which they learned important techniques such as the preparation of solutions, organic synthesis, titration, chromatography and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). In particular, chromatography and NMR were used to characterize the product of an organic synthesis. Qualitative tests were also carried out to identify cations and anions. These practical exercises are very helpful in providing students with the fundamental understanding they need to work confidently in a laboratory environment.
Overall, the course was again a success. The students were engaged, motivated and interested throughout the course. We look forward to another exciting experience next year.
