Electrochemical Process Engineering

Hendrik Hoffmann completed the bachelor's and master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Bayreuth. In his master thesis, he studied the Finite Element Analysis of mechanical and thermomechanical loads in a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell system. Since the beginning of 2020 Hendrik Hoffmann has been working and researching as a research assistant at the Chair of Materials Process Engineering.

In his field of research Hendrik focuses on the development of silver-based materials for selective CO2 electroreduction into usable hydrocarbons (FOR 2397). The aim of the DFG subproject Production and characterization of selectively structured electrodes as model systems, is to use model electrodes and to transfer them to industrially usable gas diffusion electrodes.
